Mota new president of Agci. “Now the challenge is the declining birth rate of cooperatives”

ROME – Massimo Mota, the new president of the Agci national cooperatives , launches a challenge to the virus that is attacking this sector: the declining birth rate of the cooperatives themselves.
In an interview with the Parliamentary Press Agency, Mota confirms that “no new cooperatives are being created. Mortality exceeds birth rate” . And since “we are an association of cooperatives, we must investigate the reasons, seeking answers both in the changes taking place but also in ourselves”.
"In the 2000s – continues Mota – the boom in social cooperation has demonstrated that there are social needs ” that the private sector is not willing to cover.

And again: “It is up to us to create the conditions, to make the cooperative path known. We must start again from competent people, who must be made responsible for the best of what they can give. And among us there are many valid professional cooperators ”.
